Sara Carter: Portrait!

I am so excited to finally be posting this! Sara Carter is the bomb. She is a fellow photographer and super sweet girl. She looooves Joanna Newsom. She has killer style and is extremely artistic. Overall, we had such a great time on our session. We decided to pile into a car and drive to Crestline. We even had a different location in mind to shoot at but when we saw this one we slammed on our brakes and had to check it out. And I love the results! Mostly because Sara totally knows how to work it =) Here are my favorite favorites. Enjoy!

I brought along some antique books that my mom has collected over the years.

And Sara brought it.

I love having Tim along to catch different angles and laughs between shots.

Love this.

Sara, you are beautiful!

There is just something about the mood of this one that makes me happy.

Isn’t she lovely?

Sara, you’re awesome! You have a natural talent and I can’t wait to see whats next from you =)

Dee+Steve: Married!

I am still working on how to put into words the big warm fuzzy feeling I have inside of me for a couple that has particularly touched my life such as Dee and Steve. Although I do not know them very well, what I do know is that they are wonderful. Dee came into my life a few months ago and I am so so happy that I got to be the one to shoot her wedding. She is full of life and energy and makes each person she interacts with feel important and special. She has four kids and is a wedding coordinator and custom wedding gown designer. Steve came into her life at the prompting of a very insightful, matchmaking friend. He is a firefighter and a super sweet, nice guy. I can tell he loves Dee so much just by the way he looks at her. It is a beautiful thing to witness. I know these two are going to have an amazing marriage. They have a strong faith that will hold them together in good times and bad, not to mention they are both truly kind and giving people.

The wedding took place in Tujunga, California at Steve’s friend’s beautiful house. It was an outdoor garner party type of event. The day was centered around the union of Dee and Steve’s families and LOVE. It was truly an honor to be a part of your day, Dee and Steve!

Here are some of my favorite images of the day. Enjoy!

This is the view of the pool house from the main house with the hills in the background.

The first look! It was so nice to be able to do the first look with Dee and Steve. Here is Steve waiting for his bride. Doesn’t he look dapper?

And this is why I love a first look =)

These cupcakes were not only gorgeous but they tasted amazing too! Yummmm….

A few details.

I loved the idea of having these pretty boxed lunches that the guests could just grab and eat.

Dee made gifts of flower seeds to be passed out to the guests when it was time for the ceremony to start. She had these cuties pass them out.

I love this shot of them praying before the ceremony. It makes me happy.

Tim got this awesome shot.

This is another favorite of mine of Dee being led by Steve up to the altar.

They did communion which I always think is a beautiful moment.

Another very sweet element of the wedding was a surprise Dee and Steve planned. They wanted to find a gift to give to each of their children to represented the union of the two families. They found these amazing out of print books called The Book Of Love. They presented one to each kid and kept one for themselves and had each kid sign their book. It was a very lovely and emotional moment for everyone.

Tim caught this great moment between Dee and her son after the book signing.

After the ceremony we snuck away to do some photos of the newlyweds alone. The lighting was marvelous by this time.

Dee, you looked so beautiful! I want to be like you when I grow up! And Steve, you’re not so bad yourself ;)

For more images from the wedding, take a look at the slideshow!

Thank you Dee and Steve so much for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. I look forward to working with you more Dee ;) Love you both and God Bless!
